Hymenocallis (Peruvian Daffodil)

Hymenocallis

Hymenocallis, a member of the Amaryllis family, is a tender tropical with sweetly-scented blooms that resemble daffodils. Each large flower has a long cup with projecting stamens and at the base a ring of narrow spidery back petals. Also known as “Peruvian Daffodil” or “Spider Lily,” it has 2 -5 flowers are on each stalk. Usually grown as a pot plant. Native to Peru. Zones 8-10.

Hymenocallis Advance (Peruvian Daffodil) have pure white flowers with yellow stripes and traces of green in the throat. The leaves are bright green. Also known as Ismene, they produce numerous bulbs during a growing season.
