Japanese Iris (Fall)

Japanese Iris (Ensata) is a magnificent group of irises that are native to Japan. The blooms are orchid-like, ruffled and flat.  They can be planted practically anywhere including in the water garden.  They bloom about one month after the tall bearded iris.  Plant in fall or spring.  Japanese Iris is not invasive and should not be confused with "yellow flag" or "yellow water iris" (Iris pseudacorus).
